Illegal Weapons and Ammunition Discovered; 30 Arrested

As part of several criminal proceedings conducted by the Investigative Committee of Armenia in Yerevan in collaboration with the police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, substantial evidence has been gathered indicating that several individuals are illegally possessing weapons and ammunition in their vehicles and residences.

Extensive investigative and procedural actions were undertaken to uncover illegal firearms in civilian circulation. Notably, on November 5, 2025, searches were conducted at numerous addresses (around 60 locations), during which various types of weapons, ammunition, drugs, and other items were discovered and seized.

During the pre-trial investigation, approximately 30 people were arrested on suspicion of illegal possession of weapons and drugs. The Investigative Committee of Armenia is committed to discovering and confiscating illegal weapons and ammunition in civilian circulation. Therefore, the public is urged to voluntarily surrender illegally held ammunition to law enforcement agencies.

At the same time, it is important to note that individuals who surrender illegal weapons before the authorities become aware of their location will be exempt from criminal liability.
