Emma Poghosyan Becomes European Youth Champion

Armenia has won its 4th gold medal at the European Youth and U23 Championships taking place in Durrës, Albania. This information was reported by the Armenian Weightlifting Federation.

In the 86 kg weight category for youth, Armenian athlete Emma Poghosyan had three successful attempts in the snatch event, lifting 100 kg, 103 kg, and then 105 kg consecutively. Poghosyan finished third in this event.

In the clean and jerk, our weightlifter lifted 131 kg and then 136 kg, setting a European record. He ranked first in this discipline.

With a total lift of 241 kg, Emma Poghosyan became the champion of the European Youth Championship.

It is worth noting that Kan Busran from Turkey claimed second place with a lift of 239 kg.

Earlier, gold medals were also won by Aleksandra Grigoryan, Garnik Cholakyan, and Tigran Karapetyan.
