Alen Simonyan on Aliyev's Statement
“It is intended for his internal audience; I do not wish to respond to the internal audience’s place,” stated the President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, during a conversation with reporters, noting that he does not see any threat in Aliyev's statements.
“I do not see any threat; I did not see anything in the text related to liberation, on the contrary, I saw that he says we should return by cars, not by tanks. I do not understand why you interpret it like that,” he said.
When asked if it is normal to make such a statement in the context of establishing peace, Simonyan replied, “I do not want to comment because it is an ungrateful job. This is a discourse intended for the internal audience, but at the same time, he says that we will not resolve issues through war. When we talk about the return of the residents of Artsakh to their homes, we are talking about tanks; it is normal that the residents of Artsakh should return as well.”
