Whoever Commits a Crime, Whether Opposition or Authorities, Faces Consequences: Harutyunyan

Commenting on the formation of the campaign headquarters in September or August, the head of the Prime Minister's Office, Arayik Harutyunyan, stated: “Some of our partners from the government have mentioned that they have such partners who also talk about early elections. We have assessed that there is no need for that; we are going for regular elections. I ask not to seek unnecessary intrigue.”

“For the first time, the government wants to organize its work correctly without different confusions and haste, and the decision is conditioned by that. In general, a political force can form the headquarters for the next elections the day after any subsequent elections,” Harutyunyan said.

Regarding the arrests of representatives of the opposition, the head of the Prime Minister's Office stated: “We live in a rule of law state, and all those who commit crimes, be it opposition or authorities, end up in the appropriate places or are subject to appropriate proceedings. Our fault there may be that, nevertheless, these systems have not been reformed and developed quickly enough so that such cases could be resolved in their time—not in several years, but within months, making such conversations obsolete,” said Harutyunyan.
