A Network of HETC Reveals Addition of Approximately 727,000 kWh of Electricity. Romanos Petrosyan
Various branches of the Electric Networks of Armenia (HETC) have uncovered numerous violations and manipulations related to the accounting of electrical energy, amounting to tens of thousands of kWh, through targeted monitoring and on-site inspections. This was reported by the acting director of HETC, Romanos Petrosyan, on his Facebook page.
“Additional electricity usage has been identified in connection with:
- Individual consumer accounts,
- Budgetary institutions,
- Business entities, and so forth.
Furthermore, there are reports of incorrect registrations regarding electricity produced by independent energy producers (solar plants) that are fed back into the distribution network. There have been 'artificial' reductions of actual technical losses in the distribution network and falsified documentation of data.
Recently, we witnessed what appeared to be a bizarre violation, which I believe could also indicate systemic manipulation in other branches of HETC. In one regional network of HETC, it was discovered that there was an addition of around 727,000 kWh of electricity accounted for the network's own needs (for monitoring purposes). According to responsible employees, this was carried out under ‘direct orders from superiors’.
What objectives were pursued in this latest 'manipulation', I leave to your imagination. I can make assumptions, of course, but I am also confident that the investigating authorities will find answers to all these and other similar questions. HETC must serve our people,” he wrote.
