Arshak the Blessed on Intimate Videos Circulating Online
Archbishop Arshak Khachatrayan wrote on Telegram: "In response to the rumors, I have become aware that inappropriate content is circulating online, attempting to associate it with me and my family. Simultaneously, a malign media outlet, which considers itself a news source, has published claims that I have demanded the resignation of His Holiness Karekin II, the Catholicos of All Armenians. In the context of the notorious leader of the ruling political force’s vocabulary and preferences, it is very natural that the media serving him have no choice but to spread perversions and slanders that match the degraded tone of their article titled 'The Other Side of the Country.' Many people advised me to respond quickly and refute these claims. I want to state that, even with much effort, I cannot seriously engage in refuting fabrications and slanders. I consider it sensible to ignore them. Therefore, I publicly 'refer' my contempt and smirk to the interested parties. I also suggest that these recordings be published in the 'Armenian Time' newspaper and on the walls of the pages of the representatives of the ruling party, as a vivid testimony of their preferences. It is simply ridiculous what kind of farces the ruling political machinery engages in amid dangerous developments around the country, societal division, rampant crime, and similar severe challenges, certainly following the unlawful directives of the executive authority leader, including publicly. The well-known tactic of the government to weaken the Church, discredit the clergy, divide society, and terrorize people, I am convinced, will yield no results. Save your energy, ladies and gentlemen; you will need it when the 'other sides of your faces' are fully revealed."
