On October 22, around 19:10, an inmate from the "Armavir" penitentiary facility, who was transferred to a civilian hospital for examination, attempted to escape by jumping out of a hospital window, as reported by the Penitentiary Service.

"After exhausting all other means to prevent the inmate's escape, a prison officer fired a warning shot into the air. However, the inmate did not comply and continued his escape through the hospital gate. The officer then shot the inmate in the leg, thereby preventing his escape.

The inmate was provided with medical assistance, and according to medical assessments, his life is not in danger," the statement said.
