Could such a thing have passed through Kocharian's or Sargsyan's mind? No. Vahagn Aleksanyan
Yes, we have freed people, the Prime Minister promised during the revolution, and the Government has done this by not forgiving all debts—no one made such a promise, no matter how much the propaganda wing of the Dashnaktsutyun tried to twist it, manipulate it. There hasn’t been a promise that all debts would be forgiven; there has been talk about penalties and fines, and that has been done. This was stated by Vahagn Aleksanyan, a member of the My Step faction.
“But we have not limited ourselves to that,” Aleksanyan clarified, informing that a new program has now been launched, enabling people to repay their hopeless loans from their own income taxes.
“Could such a thing have passed through Kocharian's or Sargsyan's mind? No, it would not have. Who would build the mansions then? We have exceeded our promises. This is precisely the question—that you manipulate, falsify our promises, and present them as if they were unfulfilled,” the MP stated.
Responding to accusations from opposition MP Artavazd Minasyan, who labeled the arrest of Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasian as a show, Aleksanyan said it is essential to understand who is really staging a show. “It turns out the show is being produced by you, Mr. Minasyan. You are the ones raising the noise, you are the ones creating the show. People had gone to conduct a search and make arrests, but no, ‘stop, there is repression, Vardan is a political prisoner.’ Very interesting livestreams were received by opposition media. When you listen to the recording, you’re astonished how this can be considered political persecution,” he said.
