Prime Minister: Mandatory Military Service Term Will Be Reduced Starting January 1

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, made a post on his social media page regarding the changes in the terms of military service starting January 1.

“The term of mandatory military service will be reduced starting January 1,” the Prime Minister stated.

It is recalled that the Ministry of Defense of Armenia had presented a draft law for public discussion, which proposed to reduce the mandatory military service term by 6 months, setting it at 18 months. The draft law aims to establish the compulsory military service term at 18 months starting from the summer conscription of 2026.
