Drones Forced Surrender: WP on a New Phase of War in Ukraine
Drones Forced Surrender: WP on a New Phase of War in Ukraine. Ukrainian soldiers have captured a Russian position and taken two soldiers prisoner for the first time using a ground drone, reports the publication, citing commanders from Ukraine's 3rd Assault Brigade.
The operation took place in June in the northeastern Kharkiv region. Two Russian servicemen surrendered voluntarily, holding a cardboard sign that read, "we want to surrender." Ukrainian drones monitored the situation and guided the captives back to their positions.
Prior to this, Ukrainian drones and ground unmanned vehicles had destroyed a Russian bunker that held a forested area. After a series of strikes, the Ukrainian armed forces captured the position without any losses.
The commander of the unit stated that the main victory is not the captured individuals but rather that the operation was conducted without casualties.
