Protests Against Government Begin in New York
Protests titled "No King" against the government have started in downtown New York, attended by thousands of people, reports a correspondent from RIA Novosti. The epicenter of the protest is Times Square and the surrounding streets.
As of 9:00 AM local time, thousands have joined the protest, many of whom are carrying signs criticizing the current government, immigration services, and security forces.
The main figure of the protests, U.S. President Donald Trump, played golf in Florida on Saturday, having arrived for the weekend.
Anti-government protests under the slogan "No Kings" are planned for Saturday in all states across the U.S., including Washington, marking the second wave of mass protests since the first similar rally in mid-June. Organizers have stated that as many as 2,500 protests are scheduled for Saturday, potentially involving millions of people.
