Putin and Trump Meeting Inspires Additional Hope, Germany's Chancellor

The Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz, has stated that the upcoming meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump in Budapest instills additional hope for the resolution of the Ukraine conflict.

“If the 20-point plan for resolving the Gaza conflict becomes a model for Trump’s presidency, he will continue to focus on Ukraine and strive to bring an end to the conflict there. The meeting in Budapest further strengthens this hope,” Merz noted.

Earlier, Germany’s Foreign Minister Johan Wadephul welcomed the planned meeting between Putin and Trump in Budapest.
