Illegal Tunnel Discovered on Polish-Belarusian Border

Polish border guards have announced the discovery of a tunnel beneath the border with Belarus. The announcement was made by the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration, Marcin Kerwin, via social media platform X.

“Employees of the Podlaskie Department of Border Guard discovered a tunnel under the barrier at the Polish-Belarusian border,” he wrote.

Kerwin noted that the tunnel starts on the Belarusian side and ends approximately 20 meters from the border on the Polish side.

At the end of September, Poland reopened its border with Belarus and began allowing vehicles to enter its territory following the reopening of border checkpoints.

The Polish border guard service closed its checkpoints on the Belarusian-Polish border on the night of September 12. They have also constructed a fence using concrete barriers, anti-tank obstacles, barbed wire, and metal shields. Tens of thousands of soldiers have also been deployed at the border.

Warsaw clarified these actions by referring to the “Zapad-2025” joint Russia-Belarus military exercises held from September 12 to 16.

Earlier, Lukashenko had mentioned a supposed war between Belarus and Poland.
