EU Announces Permission for Putin's Plane to Fly Over Borders
The European Union (EU) has stated that each member state can individually grant permission for Russian President Vladimir Putin's plane to take off, ascend, and land, according to EU External Action spokesperson Anita Hippie, as reported by RIA Novosti.
Earlier, in response to journalists' questions on how the Russian leader's travel to the upcoming summit with Donald Trump in Budapest would be technically organized, Hippie noted that the EU has not imposed any travel ban on President Vladimir Putin or Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
"Member states' authorities may allow landing, ascension, or flight over their territory if they determine that such landing, ascent, or flight is necessary for humanitarian purposes or any other purpose in accordance with regulations," she stated.
