Barcelona Accused of Faking Expensive Transfer

During the presidency of Josep Bartomeu, a judge investigating transfers at Barcelona has added Antoine Griezmann's transfer to the case materials. The judge has discovered signs of mismanagement and fraud during the transfer process.

Reports suggest that Barcelona may have engaged in direct negotiations with Antoine Griezmann while the player still had a valid contract with Atletico Madrid, without the club's permission. This action is prohibited by FIFA regulations.

According to El Mundo, to avoid any complaints, Barcelona may have paid Atletico 15 million euros, disguising it as another payment to conceal its true purpose.

Antoine Griezmann transferred to Barcelona from Atletico for 120 million euros in the summer of 2019. Two years later, the French player returned to the Madrid club.
