Tatoyan on the Arrest of Six Priests and the Leader of the Aragatsotn Diocese

The arrest of six priests of the Armenian Church and the leader of the Aragatsotn diocese is part of a political campaign initiated by Nikol Pashinyan against the Church, according to a pre-determined program. This was stated by former Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan.

“Lawyer Ara Zograbyan has already announced the illegal deprivation of freedom of the Church's clergy and the secular staff of the Diocese. Moreover, even the location of the head of the Diocese has not been communicated to the lawyer. The Prime Minister has taken on the functions of the court, prosecutor, investigator, and operational employee and has proceeded with the implementation of his scenario of political revenge against the Church. Initially, it was through propaganda aimed at discrediting and dividing the Church, and now it has escalated to specific actions.
