Szijjártó on the Consequences of Refusing Russian Gas

If Hungary were to refuse energy supplies from Russia, gas prices in the country would immediately rise. This cannot be allowed, stated the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

"Hungary's energy policy is guided by national interests; the most important thing for Budapest is to ensure energy supply for the country and to maintain the lowest gas prices in Europe," said the minister. He emphasized that leaving Hungarian families in such a situation would be a mistake.

It should be noted that Szijjártó had previously stated that "Hungary cannot and will not refuse oil and gas from Russia."
