Now, an Ordained Priest of the Armenian Apostolic Church Has Been Labeled a Judas: Yeghoyan on the Arrests of Priests
Arman Yeghoyan, a member of the "Civil Contract" faction in the National Assembly, addressed the targeting of clergy following the arrests of the leader of the Aragatsotn diocese and other clergymen on his social media page.
"Now, an ordained priest of the Armenian Apostolic Church has been labeled a Judas, and all sorts of slander are being poured over him. This is their love for the church. Rest assured, they would act the same way towards an archbishop who speaks against them, as evidenced by the short and 'effective' campaign against Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, who welcomed the Prime Minister in Tallinn," he wrote.
"Who are you to label someone a Judas? Are you one of the 11 apostles, or are you the representative of Christ? Are you even a Christian? Do you believe in anything without seeing? Where are your Christian virtues? Where is your compassion, patience, mercy, and love? Or do you, contrary to Christ's message, only love those who love you? In such situations, it becomes evident how truly Christian and benevolent you are. You are malicious, spiteful, and cliquish people," he added.
