NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte emphasized the strong relations between the alliance and Moldova, highlighting his personal collaboration with President Maia Sandu.

“There is close cooperation between the EU and Moldova, NATO and Moldova. Maia Sandu and I have known each other for many years. I admire her leadership. Wherever she believes we can help, we try to step in, whether it’s NATO as a whole or individual allies,” Rutte stated at a press conference.

In response to a question about the details of the cooperation, he added, “I will not go into specifics. We are a democratic organization, and this is an open press conference. I know that Vladimir Putin always listens carefully to what I say. I wouldn’t want to make him too informed.”
