Businessman Samvel Karapetyan's legal team has issued a statement: “On October 13, 2025, at the end of the working day, we were informed by the Anti-Corruption Court that the petition for the extension of the arrest of national benefactor and businessman Samvel Karapetyan has been assigned to Judge V. Dolmazyan. It should be noted that this was submitted by the investigator on October 11, yet it took this long to find a ‘candidate’ for the assignment.

The judge to whom this obviously baseless petition has been assigned is known to the public for consistently making decisions that favor the authorities, especially in high-profile cases. It is even more notable that the judge, upon receiving the materials, has already committed a significant violation by scheduling a hearing in less than 24 hours. By the way, the issue of urgency was entirely absent in this case, as the term of arrest was set to expire on October 18. These actions are also outside any legal logic.

The undeniable fact of political persecution against Samvel Karapetyan has been established; such gross violations of rights are glaring and unprecedented,” the statement reads.
