Azerbaijan, Russia, and Iran Build 'Unrestricted' North-South Corridor: Overchuk
During a trilateral meeting of government representatives from the three countries in Baku, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk stated that according to the data from the Federal Customs Service of Russia, 176,761 international transport vehicles crossed the Russia-Azerbaijan border in the first half of 2025.
"This exceeds last year’s figures by 10%. Freight transportation has increased by 13%, reaching 680 million tons," Overchuk noted.
He also emphasized that the further development of the western route of the North-South International Transport Corridor requires joint efforts to reduce and eliminate existing obstacles. "We have a lot of interesting work ahead aimed at creating a common goods market with unrestricted logistics and harmonized regulations. We are creating the best competitive conditions for the producers and exporters of our countries," the Russian Deputy Prime Minister added.
