Russia Could Attack NATO Sooner Than Expected, ISW
Russia could pose a real threat to NATO even before 2036. Its espionage and diversionary activities indicate preparations for a possible war with the Alliance. This was reported by analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
The ongoing diversionary and espionage operations by Russia against military bases and facilities in Europe via drones suggest that it is already preparing for a possible war with NATO.
Analysts believe that Russia's long-range weapons and advanced drone manufacturing pose a direct threat to NATO. Russia is actively building new military forces and creating a strategic reserve of personnel that could be utilized in both Ukraine and potential conflicts against the Alliance. This indicates that Russia can replenish its human resources despite significant losses.
Experts predict that following the active military operations in Ukraine, Russia will be able to rapidly deploy significant military forces at NATO's eastern flank.
The institute notes that Russia is developing new strategies that allow for large-scale combat operations without the extensive use of tanks and armored vehicles, limiting the enemy's similar capabilities.
Analysts see no signs that the Kremlin will wait for a complete restructuring of its military before initiating aggressive actions against NATO countries. They warn that Russia is already gaining significant experience in modern warfare and may pose new threats immediately after the conclusion of military operations in Ukraine. Therefore, they argue that NATO must be prepared to prevent and neutralize these challenges.
