China to Take Countermeasures Against the U.S.

China has pledged to take countermeasures if the United States imposes additional tariffs on Chinese goods. This statement was made by a representative of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce.

According to the representative, after the recent negotiations held in September in Madrid, the U.S. has "consistently imposed a series of new restrictions against China." The ministry's representative also stated that "threats of high tariffs are the wrong approach to cooperation with China."

"Our position regarding the tariff war remains unchanged: we do not want it, but we are not afraid of it," the ministry added.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the imposition of a 100% tariff on goods imported from China starting November 1. This decision was made after Beijing tightened control over the export of rare earth metals. Additionally, starting November 1, the U.S. plans to impose export controls on all critical software supplies.
