US President Donald Trump has announced that Israel and HAMAS have signed agreements regarding the first phase of a peace plan, according to CNN.
“HAMAS has agreed to soon release all hostages, and Israel will remove its troops to the agreed area,” Trump stated.
Additionally, HAMAS has thanked Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey for their mediation efforts in the negotiations and acknowledged Trump's efforts to halt the conflict in Gaza.
Israeli hostages held by HAMAS in the Gaza Strip are expected to be released on Saturday or Sunday.
It is also noted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has characterized the Gaza agreement as “a national and moral victory for Israel.”
