At Least 10 Days Needed to Find Bodies of Israeli Hostages, Hamas Says
The Palestinian Hamas movement has announced that it will take at least ten days to locate the bodies of Israeli hostages, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal citing sources.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump announced an agreement between Israel and Hamas aimed at implementing the first phase of a peace plan, which involves the release of hostages by the Palestinian group in exchange for Israel withdrawing its troops.
According to the newspaper, Israeli officials believe that Hamas will face difficulties in locating the remaining bodies of the hostages, which may prolong the search.
Since Monday, indirect negotiations have been ongoing in Egypt between Hamas and Israeli delegations, with the participation of mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, concerning the peace plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump aimed at halting the two-year war in the Gaza Strip.
Trump's peace plan for Gaza, published on September 29, includes 20 points and calls for an immediate ceasefire, contingent on the release of hostages within 72 hours.
