Trump's Proposal Must Be Utilized to End the Conflict in Gaza: Guterres

The United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has stated that the consequences of Israeli strikes in Gaza amount to an unimaginable humanitarian disaster in scale, and he has once again called for an immediate ceasefire throughout the region.

“Release the hostages unconditionally and immediately. End all suffering. We have witnessed a humanitarian disaster on a scale beyond comprehension. Halt military operations in Gaza, Israel, and the region. Now,” declared the UN Secretary-General.

Guterres emphasized the necessity of ramping up diplomatic efforts. “The recent proposal by US President Donald Trump presents an opportunity that must be used to end this tragic conflict,” the Secretary-General highlighted.

He noted the need for a sustainable ceasefire regime and the resumption of political dialogue, which, according to him, would prevent further bloodshed and pave the way to peace.
