Light Civil Disobedience Turns into Repression: Arzvik Minasian

Arzvik Minasian, the secretary of the "Armenia" faction, stated during a press briefing in the National Assembly that the faction expects the impeachment process to be expedited and completed within a reasonable timeframe. He emphasized that they anticipate the partners from "Honorary Title" to initiate this process as soon as possible.

“For a long time, our colleagues have stated that necessary work has been done, and there are even members from the ruling party who will join the impeachment. Therefore, it is essential for the parliamentary opposition to present a united front. We have been asserting for three months, as we do now, that those signatures are indeed present, and they were also conveyed to the "Honorary Title" during the hearings,” he noted.

He pointed out that the process of declaring mistrust is not the only way forward; there are other mechanisms that have been tested on their part, including during all movements.

“However, all of this presupposes such widespread involvement that it will compel the current authorities to take those steps. But we see that repression against people is intensifying day by day. On one hand, Pashinyan declares for them to come out and make a revolution, while on the other hand, light civil disobedience is turning into repression. If any individual does not share the views of this government, criminal prosecution begins against them. No matter how much they talk, there are apparent cases of state terrorism against the opposition,” he stated.
