We Will Continue Discussions to Enable Signing of the 'Peace Treaty': Arman Yeghoyan

Peace is a fact as both countries have agreed to establish peace and have pre-signed a peace treaty and issued a peace declaration, but peace is a process. It cannot be encapsulated in a single event, as there are actions that need to be undertaken, including the final signing and ratification of the peace treaty. This was stated by Arman Yeghoyan, a member of the Civil Contract Party, during a briefing with parliamentary factions.

When asked what Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan meant by mentioning Azerbaijani preconditions in an interview with Polish television, Yeghoyan responded: “I believe Minister Mirzoyan was referring to the ongoing discussions from the Azerbaijani side regarding peace, not the discussions with Armenia, but rather Azerbaijan's persistent raising of the issue of constitutional amendments as a precondition; I assume this is what he meant.” He added, “Our positions on this matter are known, and we will continue negotiations to sign the 'Peace Treaty' as soon as possible.”

Arman Yeghoyan also stated that they will continue to actively work and negotiate with Azerbaijan on all other fronts, as the fact of peace must be continuously nurtured through negotiations, work, and discussions.
