We Paid More for Electricity So That Friends of the Benefactor of HEC Could Receive High Salaries, Hakobyan
Member of the National Assembly from the ‘Civil Contract’ faction Hasmik Hakobyan has addressed the information recently raised by the interim director of HEC, Romanos Petrosyan, regarding positions within the management structure of HEC that literally did nothing but received high salaries.
“It turns out that we paid a little more for the consumed electricity so that friends and relatives of the benefactor owners of HEC and former high leadership, who did nothing, could receive high salaries. Now these positions are vacant and will not be filled again, as they had no function or obligation in the past. As a result, we have saved over 15 million drams in two months, which, by the way, has been granted as bonuses to hundreds of low-paid inspectors, technicians, locksmiths, workers, supervisors, and others. I say that electricity-consuming citizens paid more because our paid tariff includes these salaries. This is how benefactor things work, but only for their own friends and relatives,” wrote Hakobyan.
It should be reminded that in Romanos Petrosyan's post, it was noted that there are many well-paid positions in the executive body of HEC (even an entire department), most of which had not been assigned any specific function or duties until now, yet were occupied by individuals connected in some way with the company’s owners and former high leadership, enjoying their goodwill.
