Report on the Circumstances of the 44-Day War to be Discussed in Closed Sessions: Simonian

The report on the circumstances of the 44-day war will be discussed not in a plenary session, but in closed hearings, said National Assembly President Alen Simonian to Azatutyun.

“There will be closed hearings, and the document will be presented in that format; we just discussed it in the council and made such a decision,” Simonian noted.

Previously, Alen Simonian had stated that there is no legal basis to include the report from the investigative commission studying the circumstances of the 44-day war on the agenda of the National Assembly's plenary sessions.

Before that, Andranik Kocharyan, chairman of the National Assembly’s standing committee on defense and security issues, had announced that the report was sent to the National Assembly President a month ago, and according to the procedural regulations, he should have made a decision about its inclusion in the plenary session agenda within a month.
