Putin Responds to Trump's Calling Russia a 'Paper Tiger'
If Russia is a 'paper tiger,' then what does that make NATO? This is the question raised by Russian President Vladimir Putin during the plenary session of the 22nd annual meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club.
On September 23, Trump described Russia's military operation in Ukraine as a 'meaningless struggle' and mocked Moscow's military power. According to the political figure, Russia has been engaged in a conflict for three and a half years, which would have concluded within a week if it had been a real military power. Trump emphasized that the inability to stop the armed conflict likens the country to a 'paper tiger.'
On September 25, the U.S. President announced that he would no longer use the term 'paper tiger.' According to the White House leader, he did not intend to label anyone in such a manner. However, Trump subsequently referred to Russia again as a 'paper tiger,' despite his earlier promise to refrain from using the term.
