The Armenian Revolutionary Federation Received Only One Donation in 2024: Aleksanyan

The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) received only one donation during the entire year of 2024, amounting to 1,936,000 AMD and consisting solely of natural resources. This was stated by the Deputy of the ruling Civil Contract faction, Vahagn Aleksanyan, during a question-and-answer session in the National Assembly.

“This is their declaration. They have not received any other donations, nor have they paid membership fees. It is evident that all funding is being conducted in a different manner, and there is conspiratorial financing for conspiratorial activities. This is a clear truth for me. Seyran Ohanyan claims that you are the 'treasures of Azerbaijan', but Mr. Ohanyan, if you call us treasures, your alliance has not been a treasure for Heydar Aliyev but an entire treasury,” Vahagn Aleksanyan noted.

He recalled that when Robert Kocharian assumed governance, the military budget discrepancy with Azerbaijan was 11 million dollars, while during his last term, the difference was 1 billion 600 million dollars.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also commented: “No one in the media is discussing this, no one is asking the ARF or other parties about their donors, whether one wore a blue hat and another a pair of white shoes. No one is asking because there are none. Does the party live solely on the state budget, and we need mechanisms to understand who these people represent? Because it may turn out that this is completely conspiratorial activity funded from entirely different sources, for different purposes, and in different ways. I believe this is an issue. At the very least, we should have this question in our view and agenda so that we can provide answers, because the people expect answers from us.”

Vahagn Aleksanyan added: “People manage 72 real estate properties. I don't know how feasible it is to manage 72 properties solely through state funding. To finance that many protests they held last year, to finance that many movements, because we haven't just fallen from the sky; we are also engaged in politics, we go through these processes as well.”
