Let's Go and Implement Our Agreement. Pashinyan on the 'Zangezur Corridor'

We have signed and initialed documents, and when expressions that are not included in those papers arise, such as 'Zangezur corridor', it raises the question for us: where does that expression come from? Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this today during a Q&A session with the government in the National Assembly.

'Do we have any document anywhere that contains such an expression? There is no such thing. I raised a simple question and said that it is worth clarifying where it is coming from. If in Azerbaijan they refer to the Horadiz-Zangelan road in that way, we should ask ourselves, does that concern us or not? In Armenia’s case, the names are decided by Armenia, and in Azerbaijan’s case, by Azerbaijan. This is also recorded in this document, as we have recognized each other’s territorial integrity and inviolability of borders. Since August 8, it is presumed that we should approach issues differently and view them differently.

It is clear that this expression causes sensitivity within our society. Now the question arises, why is it being used to provoke that sensitivity? I say that there cannot be other designations regarding the territory of Armenia, and what I say is legitimate,' said Pashinyan.

Speaking on the subject of unblocking, he emphasized that they must be opened as soon as possible: 'Now we can start designing and constructing gas pipelines, duct lines, electric transmission lines, and cables. We now need to start the design of the railway and see what other infrastructure there is that we need to reopen. Why are we creating a dispute over words? Let’s go and implement what we agreed on in reality. We will do that as soon as possible,' he said.
