New Details on the Major Fire that Broke Out at a Building on Pushkin Street
On September 29, at 22:26, the Crisis Management National Center received a report of a fire that broke out in one of the buildings on Pushkin Street in Yerevan. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia.
Four firefighting teams, one aerial ladder, and operational groups from the Crisis Management National Center, as well as from the Firefighting and Rescue Operations Organization and the Medical Support Department, were dispatched to the scene with a fire complexity alert of "1 BIS." Following the escalation of the incident, a second complexity alert was declared, leading to the dispatch of five additional firefighting teams.
It was determined that the fire erupted in a two-story prefabricated building (approximately 525 square meters). The fire was contained by 00:26 on September 30 and extinguished by 02:31. The building, including the roof (approximately 375 square meters), as well as some belongings and equipment, were partially destroyed. Two firefighting teams remained on standby at the location.
Thanks to the swift actions of the firefighters, the spread of the fire to other parts of the building was prevented. The operations at the scene were overseen by the Director of the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ Rescue Service and Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations, Fire Major General Kamo Tsutsulyan.
