The Murder of Valodia Grigoryan Has Clients and Organizers: Statement

The "Living Country" party has issued a statement regarding the murder of Valodia Grigoryan:

“Representatives of the authorities are manipulating an incomprehensible vendetta theory concerning Valodia Grigoryan's murder, and we find it necessary to clarify the following: Valodia Grigoryan had no personal issues with anyone; throughout his activities, he adhered solely to the principle of 'the mayor of everyone,' doing everything for the sake of unity and solidarity.

Valodia Grigoryan and his brother had no connection to the incident that occurred in the village of Mrdavanj in February. The illegal detention of Valodia Grigoryan's brother was a manifestation of political pressure before the elections on March 30, regarding which Valodia Grigoryan made an official statement on February 8. According to the charges presented by the prosecutor's office, Valodia Grigoryan's brother is accused solely of committing hooliganism and has no connection to the murder.

After the arrest of the principal suspect in the murder (the brother of the man killed in February), the Ministry of Internal Affairs demonstrated an atrocious lack of professionalism by presenting the murder as a continuation of the February incidents, usurping judicial functions. This represents an unacceptable manifestation of political assessment by the law enforcement system.

The next day, the arrest of the individual who allegedly committed the murder clearly indicated that the fabricated vendetta theory had no connection to reality. Reaffirming Valodia Grigoryan's exceptionally honest and proper behavior in public life and excluding the presence of interpersonal conflicts, it is evident that there are organizers and clients involved in the case of his murder.

We demand that the law enforcement agencies continue their operational work for the complete disclosure of the murder—abstaining from making assessments about what happened and leaving that to the jurisdiction of the court. We will be steadfast in our pursuit for the complete disclosure of Valodia Grigoryan's murder. All those responsible will receive the punishment they deserve from the court,” the party wrote.
