Parents of Missing Soldiers Protest Outside Ministry of Defense: Will Take Extreme Measures if No Meeting Occurs

Parents of soldiers who went missing during the 44-day war are staging a protest outside the Ministry of Defense. The parents are demanding a meeting with the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Eduard Asryan, and the former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, Kamo Vardanyan. They also held a protest on September 27, where they were informed that a meeting would take place today. Currently, some of the parents are inside the Ministry attending a meeting.

Arsen Ghukasyan, a relative of one of the missing soldiers, told NEWS.am that if the meeting does not happen on Monday, they will resort to extreme measures. “We ask the public to forgive us, but we will bring the city to a standstill by blocking main roads, though we won’t disclose which ones. We are coming on Monday at 12 PM because we haven't been given a specific time, and we don’t want to waste any more time, considering we have already been waiting for five years,” Ghukasyan stated.
