Lebedev is Confident that Armenia Will Not Halt its Participation in the CIS
The Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Sergey Lebedev, stated during a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government in Minsk that there is no concern that any member country intends to cease its activities within the organization.
"The representative of Armenia, Deputy Prime Minister Grigoryan, spoke via video link, and it was a practical statement. We have no doubt that no member state wishes to halt its operations within the CIS framework. All speakers emphasized the importance of preserving the organization and the significance of economic cooperation as a priority direction of our interaction," Lebedev told reporters in Minsk.
He noted that Armenia has approved a large majority of the agenda documents. The leaders of government from CIS countries confirmed 25 documents at the meeting held in the capital of Belarus, necessary for expanding integration within the framework of cooperation.
