EU Partially Restores Sanctions Against Iran

The European Union has announced the partial restoration of sanctions against Iran that were suspended in 2015.

"Today, the EU Council agreed to reinstate a number of restrictive measures regarding Iran's nuclear activities that were suspended following the entry into force of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action in 2015," the statement said.

It is reported that the measures specifically pertain to personal restrictions for individuals as well as sanctions related to trade, finance, and transport sectors.
