Defense Officials Charged with Embezzlement and Official Forgery; Investigation Concluded
Based on materials received from the Military Police of the Republic of Armenia's Ministry of Defense (MoD), an investigation initiated by the Anti-Corruption Committee has established that an individual holding the position of head of the automotive and services department at the MoD's N military unit, using official powers, with the assistance of the company commander and several other individuals, embezzled fuel vouchers amounting to 1130 liters of gasoline by inserting false information into official documents between January 2024 and April 2025.
The Anti-Corruption Committee reported to NEWS.am that during the specified period, instead of providing official vehicles to transport medical personnel for various missions to military hospitals, the mentioned official complied with doctors' requests to use personal vehicles and directed the subordinates to create appropriate travel orders with the intent of receiving the gasoline vouchers and transferring them to him.
To execute this directive, the company commander prepared travel orders for the missions to various military hospitals and handed them to drivers, who then entered false information regarding non-existent routes and other data. Subsequently, the gasoline and diesel fuel vouchers obtained based on these same travel orders were transferred to the MoD official and the company commander.
