Ursula von der Leyen Gets Caught in Another Scandal Over Message to Macron

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has found herself at the center of a scandal again, related to an SMS message sent to French President Emmanuel Macron. This was announced by Hungarian Member of the European Parliament and Vice-President of the 'Identity and Democracy' group, Kinga Gal, as reported by TASS.

'The European Ombudsman has begun investigating the correspondence between President Macron and her regarding the EU's deal with Mercosur. Just like the scandal surrounding Pfizer, these messages have also disappeared,' she wrote on her X page.

According to her, there is a lack of transparency in the work of the European Commission. 'Transparency must be ensured in EU institutions.'

It is noteworthy that for the first time in 25 years, a vote of no confidence was held against von der Leyen during the Strasbourg session of the European Parliament, following corruption allegations related to the procurement of COVID-19 vaccines. However, the vote was rejected, with 360 members voting against, 175 in favor, and 18 abstaining.
