UN Secretary-General on Agreements Between Azerbaijan and Armenia
UN Secretary-General António Guterres has described the peace agreements reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia as a "positive signal for the entire world" during the 80th session of the General Assembly in Washington.
Guterres called on the international community to put an end to ongoing armed conflicts, including violence, territorial expansion, and the threat of annexation in Gaza. He stated, "From Haiti to Yemen, Myanmar to the Sahel and beyond, we must choose the path of peace based on international law. Last year brought glimmers of hope, such as the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand and the agreement reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia with U.S. mediation. However, far too many crises remain unmanageable," the Secretary-General emphasized.
