Erdogan Silenced at UN: Turkish Foreign Ministry Responds
During Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's speech at the UN regarding the Palestinian issue, his microphone was reportedly turned off. It has been noted that the Turkish leader was making strong statements about Israel's policies in the region. The Turkish newspaper 'Sabah' speculated that this might have been a cyber attack.
“During President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's historic speech, the microphone was turned off. There are assumptions that President Erdogan's speech was intentionally interrupted, or that a cyber attack occurred,” the newspaper stated.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry denied reports that President Erdogan's microphone was silenced during his speech at the UN General Assembly. “At the high-level international conference of the UN General Assembly, leaders of states and governments were allocated 5 minutes, while other speakers had 3 minutes. President Erdogan’s speech took longer due to applause, and the microphone was automatically turned off after the 5th minute for technical reasons,” the statement reads.
