30-Year-Old Son Kills Father; Body Found Wrapped in Bags

The community police of the Mush division received operational information indicating that 63-year-old Garik Garakyan, a resident of the Mush neighborhood, had been missing since March, and according to the data, he was killed and buried by his son in a nearby field.

On September 18, the information was transferred to the Criminal Police of the Shirak Regional Department, and subsequent measures were carried out jointly. On the same day, at 19:40, the 30-year-old son was arrested and taken to the police station, where he confessed to the crime.

According to him, a dispute arose between him and his father over household issues on the night of March 20, during which his father was stabbed. The following day, the son dressed his father in new clothes, wrapped the body in bags, and buried it in a nearby field, while he disposed of the knife and the clothes his father was wearing at the time of the incident in a dumpster.

The documents have been prepared and the arrested individual has been presented to the Shirak Regional Investigative Department. On the evening of September 19, police and investigative committee officials discovered the body of 63-year-old Garik Garakyan. It is noteworthy that the 30-year-old son has been detained. The complete circumstances of the incident are being clarified during the pre-trial investigation.
