Trump: Diplomatic Resolution Possible in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has expressed hope that a diplomatic resolution can be achieved in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Trump spoke during a flight from Arizona to Washington.

In response to a reporter's question about the possibility of a diplomatic solution to the conflict in Gaza, the U.S. President stated, “I hope so, I would like to see a diplomatic solution. There is a lot of anger and hatred, as you know, and it has been going on for many years. I hope we can achieve something.”

Earlier, the American news portal Axios reported, citing anonymous sources, that Trump plans to meet with a group of Arab and Muslim leaders on September 23 during the United Nations General Assembly to discuss pathways for resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. According to the outlet, invitations have been extended to the leaders of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, and Turkey.

Sources from Axios also indicated that the White House is planning to discuss the participation of these countries in the post-war reconstruction of Gaza, as well as the potential deployment of their own military forces there as a “stabilizing force” to replace Israeli troops after they withdraw from the enclave.
