Fire at Yerevan Medical University: One Injured
On September 21, at 19:04, the Crisis Management National Center received a report of a fire breaking out in one of the offices of Yerevan Medical University. Emergency response teams, including four firefighting squads from the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Yerevan, an on-duty group from the Firefighting and Rescue Operations Department, and a chemist from the Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Monitoring Department, were dispatched to the scene.
It was determined that the fire had started in a laboratory on the 7th floor of the university. The fire was contained by 19:50 and completely extinguished by 20:14. Approximately 6 square meters of laboratory equipment and about 12 square meters of the hallway’s suspended ceiling were burned. One person was hospitalized as a result of the incident. Firefighters managed to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent rooms.
