Armenian Army Will Have No Issues Outside Its Internationally Recognized Territories, Says Pashinyan

Having a defensible army is our strategic goal, and unprecedented reforms and developments have taken place in the army in recent years, both in scale and substance. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the 7th congress of the 'Civil Contract' party.

“One of the most important new aspects of our military reform strategy is that we have decided to abandon the old logic of beating the drums. The Armenian army is developing quietly and consistently, but at the strategic and political level, we need to clearly state the purpose for which we need an army and what political issues it needs to resolve. Here, we rely on the ideology of 'Real Armenia,'” said the Prime Minister.

Pashinyan recalled the ideology of 'Real Armenia.' “For us, our homeland is the Republic of Armenia with its internationally recognized borders, the political, now legal expression of which is the 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration. We must clearly state that today and evermore, the Army of the Republic of Armenia has no issues outside its internationally recognized territories and will not have any,” emphasized Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
