Senior ISIS Operative Killed in Syria, Planned Attacks in the U.S.

A senior ISIS operative, who was planning attacks in the United States, has been killed in Syria, according to CENTCOM.

“Today, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces conducted a raid in Syria that resulted in the elimination of a senior member of ISIS (Omar Abdel Qader), who posed an imminent threat to the United States. His death significantly reduces the terrorist organization’s ability to plan attacks against Americans and our partners,” the command said in a statement.

The Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) also reported on an operation conducted in conjunction with international coalition forces in Syria, which resulted in the death of one of ISIS's most notorious leaders, Omar Abdel Qader Bassam, known as al-Halabi, according to Shafaq News.
