Massive Protests in France as Around 10,000 People Participate
Nearly 10,000 protesters took to the streets of French cities on Thursday morning to participate in demonstrations against government-proposed austerity measures. This was announced by Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau during a live broadcast on LCI television.
“As of 10:00, there are 230 protest actions, 95 attempts to block businesses, and 10,000 protesters,” he stated.
It is noteworthy that a nationwide strike is taking place in France to protest against the austerity measures proposed by the government. Authorities anticipate that around 900,000 people will participate in the countrywide demonstrations. The Interior Ministry is deploying more than 80,000 police and gendarmes, as well as armored vehicles and drones, to maintain order.
