Former Deputy Director of Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine in Anti-Corruption Court: Details

Today, Narik Ambarian, the former first deputy director of the 'Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine' LLC and a member of the council, appeared in the Anti-Corruption Court. This was reported by Arm.lur.

Six individuals have been placed in the defendant's chair for the criminal proceedings of money laundering aimed at concealing particularly large-scale property. In particular, according to the preliminary investigation body, Suren Rafik Azikyan has been charged with money laundering, along with a group of individuals acting in preliminary agreement, having transferred, acquired and used property that they effectively possessed and managed as a result of abusing the powers granted to them by employees of a commercial organization, with the aim of concealing and distorting the criminal origin, ownership, true nature, and source of that property.

Narik Gurgen Ambarian has been charged with having misused his authoritative and other powers from July 1, 2014, when he was serving as the first deputy director of 'Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine' LLC, as well as since March 1, 2018, as a member of the council for his own benefit and for the benefit of others, contrary to the interests of the LLC, resulting in severe consequences for the company.

According to the newspaper, it has been revealed that in 2020, Hetq reported that Anahit Ghaltakhchyan was a shareholder of the 'Hakari' LLC, operating under the name 'Hakari 2' hydroelectric power plant, and is the wife of Narik Ambarian, the first deputy director of the 'Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine'. Ambarian has previously served as an investigator for particularly important cases in the military prosecution of Armenia. Anahit Ghaltakhchyan also holds an additional 25% stake in 'Hakari'.
