Ukraine Cannot Independently Withstand Such Financial Burdens, Chief of Staff Says
Ukraine is spending $172 million daily on the military conflict. This was stated by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andriy Shmyhal, as reported by Novosti.LIVE.
"The country will not be able to withstand such a financial burden alone," Shmyhal stated.
He emphasized that due to a lack of resources, Ukraine requires financial assistance from partners to develop its domestic defense industry and innovative technologies.
"Waging war against such a large and resource-rich country as the Russian Federation is very costly," he said.
Previously, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky complained about the lack of funding and weapon supplies from allies. He noted that Kyiv is forced to purchase more and more weapons for money, including artillery shells and air defense systems.
Zelensky mentioned that continuous negotiations are being held at the level of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense with other countries regarding the increase of supplies.
